Ion (Johny) Postolachi

Ion Postolachi was born in the Republic of Moldova where he started his ballroom dance career at the early age of five. After many successful competitions, he was a finalist at the 2006 “World Championship in Standard Formation” held in Moscow. After that, he continued to be a finalist and winner at national and international competitions in Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, France, Moldova, Russia and the Ukraine. At the age of 16, he moved to Romania where he started a successful new dance partnership. Representing Romania, he was a finalist at national championships and was selected to represent Romania at the “European Union Cup”. He attended DanceSport Institute and became a member of one of the most prestigious dance teams in Italy. 

Ion graduated from high school with a specialty in sports education. He earned a Bachelors degree at Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj Napoca with a major in Physical Education and Sports, His education helped him discover new horizons in his dance career. While at the university, he successfully managed a dance studio. His students were winners and finalists at national competitions in Romania. In 2016, Ion and his wife emigrated to the United States.  He continued teaching ballroom dancing and began participating in Pro-Amateur competitions with his students.  He and his amateur partners have won medals at every competition they have attended.

Ion is founder and co-owner of the Gold Ballroom Dance Studio where he teaches and contributes to the development of the dance community in southern Delaware. He and his wife are professional dance partners and collaborate with some of the best coaches in the country.

Diana Postolachi

Diana Postolachi’s journey is a story of passion, dedication, and artistic exploration. Hailing from the Republic of Moldova, Diana’s lifelong fascination with dance has been a driving force in her life. From her early days as a member of her school’s dance troupe, where she graced stages at dance festivals in various styles.

At the age of 16, Diana embarked on a new chapter, moving to Romania, where she pursued her high school education with a specialty in teaching. Her commitment to the arts was unwavering, and during her school years, she not only continued her dance journey but also delved into the world of theater. Her talents in acting and dance caught the attention of many, leading her to participate in televised events on locally famous shows.

Her academic journey took her to “Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj Napoca” in Romania, where she earned her bachelor’s degree with a major in Economics and Business Management. This unique combination of artistic and business acumen set the stage for her future endeavors.

One of the defining moments in Diana’s life came when she met her husband. Together, they continued to develop their dance skills and soon embarked on an incredible journey of emigration to the United States in 2016. In the U.S., Diana and her husband transitioned into professional dance partners, working with some of the industry’s top coaches and competing at the professional level. Their dedication to dance and their partnership became a source of inspiration for those who witnessed their performances.

In her pursuit to share the joy of dance with others, Diana co-founded the Gold Ballroom Dance Studio. Here, she introduces the world of dance into people’s lives, helping them discover the numerous benefits of this art form.

Mariana Arbuz

Mariana Arbuz is a dedicated dancer who embarked on her dance journey from an early age of 6 in the Republic of Moldova. Over the years, she has honed her skills and expertise in the art of ballroom dance and has participated in numerous international dance competitions across various countries, including Moldova, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Belarus, Lithuania, and Germany.

In 2018, Mariana made the significant move to the United States, where she now shares her wealth of knowledge and experience in dance with students at Gold Ballroom. Her passion for dance and her understanding of how movement can positively impact people’s lives in incredible ways make her a valuable addition to the Gold Ballroom family.
